The unique silver beads are individually made by the Karen Hill Tribe in northern Thailand, in the famed Golden Triangle region of Thailand, Laos and Burma. Thai silver has been a way of life for the Hill Tribe people for several hundred years. The silver used in Thailand is 97.5-99% pure silver, whereas sterling silver jewellery is only 92.5% pure silver. The high silver content of Thai Silver makes it softer than sterling but the good news is that it also does not tarnish as easily as sterling silver as there is no copper alloy. Joyfully if it does become a little dull just take a regular silver cleaning cloth to it - a quick rub and its glorious again.
Loyalty, sincerity, purity and truth have long been associated with pearls. It is believed they aid in connecting with the Goddess and the female side of the self as pearls are attuned with the water and moon energies.
